I’m Laura Stroud. I’m a freelance content creator, creative writing teacher, and author.

I’m also the Chief Storyteller at storiesfromabackpack.com, a place to help and encourage you to document your life through stories. And I’m the founder and creative writing teacher at derbyshirewritingschool.com.

The path to becoming a full-time writer can often seem so secretive and unattainable, but I’m here to break down the barriers. I’m here to share my process and document my journey with you.

Laura Stroud is a freelance content creator, creative writing teacher, and author.

Laura has an MA in Creative Writing and works with freelance clients to create digital content and copy for brands and businesses. Working across a wide variety of sectors, changing voice, style and tone depending on audience needs.

As the founder of Derbyshire Writing School, Laura is passionate about helping others write their own stories, and regularly teaches engaging memoir courses. Laura has worked with private clients to offer editorial and developmental support, crafting shorter personal family stories. This work demands quick rapport building and strong empathy skills.

Laura is also a lecturer and teaches at the University of Derby.

Laura is personable, hardworking, and experienced in working with short deadlines, fast-paced edits, and high expectations.
